KEY SUCCES FACTOR FOR INTERNET AGE COMPANIES
More than 31 million working hours: that's how much time Italian workers spend on their workplace, officialy to be informed, formally to fight loneliness. This is the picture of the reality detected by Internet Monitoring on a 300 people sample and shows at "Internet and the virtual society" Congress hold in Rome the 15th of February 2005.
Other than chats many services are downloaded from workplace such as audio and video files, which contribute in diverting attention from working and reducing internal broadband connection resources.
Great part of chat users are connected from the workplace: considering that the avarage number of employees (in Italy, 2003) who chat everyday is almost 180.000 and the average connection lasts at least 1 hour, Internet Monitoring has estimated a €500million cost per year for companies generated from this productivity decrease.
SICUREZZA E DISPONIBILITA’ DI BANDA
Circa l’80% delle aziende sono colpite da virus nonostante la maggioranza adotti già sistemi di protezione. Tutto questo è dovuto ad un intenso utilizzo di Internet. La banda che l’azienda ha a disposizione è solitamente “calibrata” in base alle esigenze aziendali ed un intenso traffico anomalo generato da download di file di grandi dimensioni quali filmati audio, applicazioni o giochi, spesso ne vanifica l’ottimizzazione. Un improprio utilizzo di Internet espone l’azienda a rischi che portano spesso alla perdita di dati, al ripristino di PC e quindi a costi aggiuntivi assai onerosi.
